Family Portraits, Inside vs. Outside?

When choosing to have your family photographed at our studio, the question of do we want to do something inside or outside doesn’t become an issue….WE CAN DO BOTH in the same photo session. We have beautiful wooded grounds surrounding our studio with a large grape arbor and outside sets. We have all kinds of furniture and props that can be used both inside and outside for the family photo session. Also, we have numerous backgrounds that can be chosen for your inside session, usually based on the type and/or colors of attire to be worn. Anatomy of a Toddler Photoshoot

Photographing children can, at times, be a challenge. If they haven’t eaten, or had their nap, or just in a bad mood, or even if the parents want their precious ones to be perfect little angels at the photo studio…..it rarely goes that easy. And sometimes, the parents can even lose their patience with the little cut-up cuties. However, sometimes those “cut-up” moments are when you really see their personalities. Example: My latest photoshoot with my grandtwins Gillian and Spencer….all they wanted to do was play and the exact opposite of what I asked them to do. When I would make a frownie face, they would just break up laughing…they knew they were pushing my buttons, and they were enjoying every minute of it. However, when you look at the photos, I finally did get one of them looking at the camera smiling, but I think I have to say, my favorite ones are all the others of them laughing and moving around. Those are the ones that reflect my true memories of them, and why I love them so much. Wanted to share with you:

Haley and Jake’s Wedding in Nashville, TN

Below is a sneak peek of some of the images we took at the wedding of beautiful “Newgrass” recording artist Haley Dykes, and her handsome fiancee, Jacob Johnson. The wedding was held at the classic Scarritt-Bennett Center in downtown Nashville (near Music Row). Her dad, well known and talented musician Doyle Dykes walked Haley down the beautiful aisle of the chapel, as many family and friends from all over witnessed their vows of love to each other. At the reception, the food was wonderful, the entertainment superb (with many talented musicians and singers performing), and the bride and groom couldn’t smile any wider with the happiness and love felt that day! Congratulations and life’s blessings to Haley and Jake!

Our studio has been well known for quite some time for our top notch wedding photography, however, because we have photographed hundreds (probably thousands) of weddings, we now get the privilege of continuing on with our clients as their lifetime photographer, and get to photograph their babies and children as they go.
